Our Practice

The firm handles issues relating to healthcare business in transactional, licensing and litigation matters. The firm advises its clients in the Healthcare sector in regulatory and policy aspects as well as other statutory compliances. We advise the private healthcare sector on legal compliances relating to hospitals, nursing home facilities, medical professionals, clinics as well as ancillary medical services such as diagnostic, therapeutic and custodial service providers.
The firm advises on intellectual property regulatory aspects, corporate laws and taxation as well as Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Venture, research and development and licensing. We also assist in navigating the complex aspects relating to manufacture, import and utilisation of medical devices, drugs and other consumables.
The sector has specific regulator, case of medical malpractice are dealt by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), respective State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions (SCDRC) as well as District Consumer Forums across India. While disputes relating to professional misconduct is dealt by the Medical Council of India as well as State Medical Councils.

The Medical devices and IVDs are regulated by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) in the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as well as other central and state laws regulating the functioning of Clinical Establishments in India.

The firm also represents medical institutions and medical practitioners in proceedings of medical malpractice, medical negligence as well as pursuing claims of malpractice for patients.
